The Women for Election Australia project aims to build and support a pipeline of diverse women to prepare for, and enter, public office at all levels of government. Activities under the program include place-based training events, online training forums, and a tech-based training platform containing candidate resources and support forums. The project will increase the number and diversity of women running for public office and getting elected, and encourages the participation of women from politically under-represented communities.

People with Disability Australia LtdAdvancing Women with Disability in the WorkforceThis project will improve how women with disability participate in Australia’s workforce and their leadership representation. The project will focus on developing leadership skills and will deliver a series of training, webinar and e-learning modules to employers, staff, disabled women and disability sector workers. These modules will unpack employment in relation to Australia’s key disability and disability employment strategies, diversity and inclusion from a disability rights perspective, through the lens of women with disability. Tranby Aboriginal Co-operative LimitedYanalangami Strong Women, Strong Communities ProgramYanalangami is a national self-governed grassroots leadership program that connects and further empowers Indigenous women by strengthening their networks and leadership capacity. This program expands on the success of Tranby's existing Yanalangami program, which is recognised as a powerful, innovative and best-practice example of cultural governance and place-based leadership. It is unique, culturally-safe and addresses the systemic barriers faced by Indigenous women through strengths-based models, supporting women's inherent cultural leadership and healing.$2,772,268

Women in Seafood AustralasiaTurn the TideTurn the Tide is an innovative national project to support women and influence men and decision-makers within the Australian seafood industry. The project will focus on increasing women’s representation in leadership through leadership and entrepreneurship training, building strong networks and improving access to champions, mentors and decision makers. The program includes financial literacy training, learner driver training, and creating employment and training pathways for transition to full or part time employment. Within a safe and welcoming environment, activity participants will develop life skills with mentored support, ongoing community connection and support networks encouraging access to further training and job opportunities, in areas of future demand, creating a strong foundation for long-term beneficial outcomes.

Women will be engaged to deliver workshops and training and Local Coordinators will provide meaningful mentoring. Workshops will be conducted in the remote areas of Queensland and the Northern Territory. The workshops will be aimed at over 18 years including older women. This project will predominantly work with Indigenous women and equip them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to apply for work and seek greater opportunities in personal development and community leadership.

Big Hart IncPositive FuturesThis project will support disadvantaged young women, (aged 13–20) to build new pathways to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic (STEM) education and careers. Through an engaging, task focused workshop program, young women explore the physical environment of the North West Coast and assist local organisations to document unmapped areas with drone technology. These skill building workshops introduce young women to a range of spatial mapping equipment and techniques to document wild places. The program will address an opportunity gap on the North West Coast for young women to be exposed to STEM skills and role models, and to increase community support for local STEM pathways.$200,000
Brave FoundationSupporting Expecting and Parenting Teens (SEPT) ProgramThis project will see the continuation and expansion of the SEPT Program. Under the program, mentors based at community hubs work with expecting and parenting teens to create individual Pathway Plans focusing on education and workforce participation; goalsetting and career advice; health and wellbeing; navigating financial and housing assistance; and help with everyday parenting skills. The program helps participants connect with existing support services and provides these young people with the tools and confidence to participate in the workforce, build their economic security and create happy, healthy and skilled families.$6,000,000
Bungala Aboriginal CorporationAboriginal Women in Hospitality Skills‑Building and Employment ProgramThis project will deliver a job creation and skills‑building program aimed at Aboriginal women in Port Augusta. Traineeships will be provided for Aboriginal women who will be supported to obtain a Certificate II in Kitchen Operations. This project will improve economic security for Aboriginal women who participate in the program, and it will encourage workforce participation.$240,000
Business and Professional Women’s Association DarwinWomen's Mentoring Program 2021 - 2024This project will develop and implement a mentoring program supporting young women aged 18-30 years from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women across the Northern Territory. The annual six-month mentoring program will empower women, build confidence and leadership capacity, strengthen economic independence and support female labour force participation in the Northern Territory.$45,000
Carers Australia LtdWomen who Care Employment Toolkit ProjectCarers Australia will develop and implement the Women who Care Toolkit Project, targeted at women carers. Through a series of activities underpinned by an online 'hub' for both women carers and employers, this project will focus on supporting women carers to reconnect with training, or to new or emerging workforce opportunities whilst being able to maintain their caring role. The project will also deliver a framework to assist employers with practical strategies that can be implemented in their workplaces to support women carers to become and remain employed.$620,000

Children's Ground LtdRemoving Barriers to Meaningful Employment for First Nations WomenThis project will support employment opportunities and address the challenges in maintaining employment for First Nations women who live with violence in Central Australia (Mparntwe - Alice Springs). Project activities will include access to employment, on-the-job training, mentoring, financial literacy and supporting the social, emotional wellbeing of the women at risk. The project looks beyond the job itself and focuses on the support structures within the workplace that will encourage greater participation for at-risk women.$793,829

Dress for Success Sydney IncDress for Success: Virtual Career Support ProgramThis project will extend and expand on previous funding provided under the 2018-19 WLDP grant round by delivering a digital portal that will enable women job seekers to access practical and holistic range of support services digitally anytime from anywhere in Australia. The portal will enable women to build skills, confidence, and knowledge to enter/re‑enter the workforce by accessing range of services such as: pre-recorded workshops and webinars; assistance with resume preparation; pre-booked mock interview sessions with corporate volunteers; 10 free coaching sessions with accredited career coaches; connection with prospective employers; virtual or face to face dressing and styling appointments and/or order a clothing pack in the post; and ongoing/long term career support to help women keep their jobs and thrive at work.$985,068
Family Planning Association of Western Australia IncSafe to TellThis project builds on the screening program developed by Sexual Health Quarters (SHQ) to support women most vulnerable to violence and affected by intimate partner violence (IPV), reproductive coercion (RC) and other family, domestic violence (FDV). This screening program will now be further implemented, in partnership with Women’s Health and Family Services and South Coastal Health and Community Services. The screening program will be supported by training, counselling services, and translated resources and delivered to health organisations in Western Australia. The project will enable the health workforce to have the skills and confidence to assist women experiencing violence and coercion, and ensure that more women at-risk are identified and supported to be safe in their homes and communities.$782,970
First Nations FoundationIndigenous Women's Financial Wellness StrategyThe Indigenous Women's Financial Wellness (IWFW) strategy is an extension of First Nation Foundation’s current work supporting women to be financially resilient through COVID-19. The IWFW addresses the unique position of economic disadvantage experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women through four impact areas: education, workforce participation, individual and collective empowerment and leadership. Fitzroy Legal Service IncWork without BarriersThis project will deliver an employment and professional skills development program for women who face substantial barriers to employment due to systemic disadvantage (including women with disability, women who are criminalised or have lived experience of prison, homelessness, or the child protection system). The project will provide employment opportunities for women who traditionally face barriers to employment and provide them with access to a tailored training and development program. Pathways for employment will be created through developing professional skills transferrable to other legal centres and the community/health sector. The project will also build organisational capacity to employ women with lived experience of systemic discrimination, including processes and infrastructure for safe, trauma-informed, and inclusive workplaces. Inventorium Pty LtdReturning Women to the WorkforceThis project will support women who have been out of the workforce for at least six months in order to build their self‑confidence and self-efficacy enabling them to re-enter the workforce. Women will participate in online learning, face to face workshops, personal career development planning, mentoring, work-shadowing and receive support through the job application process. Medical Research Commercialisation Fund Pty LtdThe Women in Leadership Development ProgramThis project will scale-up the Women in Leadership Development (WILD) program which tackles common barriers to career progression and sector retention faced by women employed in the STEM sector. The project will tackle the barriers culturally diverse women experience in the workplace and community and increase their visibility to allow them to fully achieve their career and community goals. Project YouthRAISE - Raising Achievement in Safe EmploymentThe RAISE program will support young women aged 16-25 who are disconnected from career pathways. It builds on the successful pilot employment program (Labour Y). RAISE participants may face disadvantage such as homelessness, mental ill-health, disconnection from education and family dysfunction. The project will use trauma-informed relational support to      
co-create a pathway to a career though training, business mentoring, specialist career advice, and innovative industry partnerships. Participants will complete Certificate II in Engineering Pathways and Work Skills Cert 1 over 12 months. Throughout the project, participants will be given work experience and work trial opportunities. ACCESS provides pathways to work, training and education opportunities for women in Sydney impacted by homelessness, domestic and family violence, and social disadvantage. Participants will also receive training through the ACCESS leadership program.
