This year marks the 22nd anniversary of Australian Citizenship Day. It is an opportunity for all Australians to celebrate Australian citizenship. Further information is available on the Department of Home Affairs’ citizenship website at Celebrating citizenship.
In accordance with flag protocol, Australian Government departments and associated portfolio agencies are requested to fly or display the Australian National Flag all day on Sunday 17 September 2023 to celebrate Australian Citizenship Day. State, territory and local government bodies, as well as non-government organisations are also welcome to follow this protocol.
