The Australian Government has announced two new grants to assist flood-affected farmers in North Queensland get back on their feet faster.

These grants are designed to help primary producers commence essential recovery work.

North Queensland farmers now have access to up to $400,000 for restocking, replanting and rebuilding on-farm infrastructure. The grants are the first stage of the recovery and rebuilding program.

The Australian Government will work with the Queensland Government to ensure that the programs are administered through existing mechanisms. The new grants build on almost $200 million in immediate assistance committed to people affected by the recent monsoon trough event in North Queensland.
