The Governor-General, His Excellency the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), has accepted the advice of the Government to transfer the following functions between departments, which include amendments to the Administrative Arrangements Orders (AAO).
- Protective security policy and government and major event security will transfer from the Attorney-General to support the critical infrastructure, cyber security and resilience priorities of the Minister for Home Affairs and Cyber Security.
- Identity and biometrics policy, strategy and delivery and identity matching services will transfer from Home Affairs to better align with the Attorney-General’s privacy and cybercrime priorities.
