At the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C), our purpose is to provide support to the Prime Minister, the Cabinet, portfolio ministers and assistant ministers to improve the lives of all Australians, including through coordination of government activities, effective policy advice and development, and program delivery.
Our Corporate Plan 2023–2024 outlines the department's purpose, role, operating environment, capability, approach to risk management, and performance reporting framework. It sets out our key activities to achieve our purpose and how we will measure performance over the next 4 years.
The plan is our primary planning document and sets out the 5 key activities:
- Effective and timely advice
- Helping our partner agencies deliver on Government priorities
- Coordination and support for national and international agendas
- Collaborate, communicate and engage
- Deliver Government programs and priorities
Each activity is delivered with a range of performance measures and targets by which we will measure and report on our achievements and progress in our annual report.
