The King's Birthday Honours List announced

Congratulations to the 737 recipients in The King's Birthday 2024 Honours List announced by the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd).

The achievements of 493 Australians across community service, science and research, industry, sport, the arts and more fields were recognised in the General Division of the Order of Australia. The Honours list also includes:

  • 25 recipients of awards in the Military Division of the Order of Australia
  • 162 Meritorious awards
  • 57 Distinguished and Conspicuous awards (military).

The Order of Australia is the nation's recognition for outstanding achievement and service. People from all backgrounds and parts of Australia are honoured and celebrated through the Order.

"Through today's recognition we shine a light on their efforts, the impact they have and the difference they make. On behalf of all Australians, I thank recipients for their service and congratulate them on their recognition," the Governor-General said.

"The honours and awards system belongs to all Australians, and by nominating people for recognition in the Order of Australia, we all have a role to play. I have been steadfast that the Order must reflect the diversity of our community – I am pleased by the progress we have made over the last five years. For it to continue, and it must, we need people to take the time to nominate people that inspire them."

Everyone recognised in The King's Birthday 2024 Honours List has something in common – someone took the time to nominate them. No matter how valuable someone's contribution is, they can't be recognised unless they are nominated.

Don't leave it to someone else – you can make a difference today by nominating an outstanding person you know today.
