The Queen's Birthday 2022 Honours

Congratulations to The Queen’s Birthday 2022 Honours List recipients, who were announced today by the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC.

The achievements of 992 Australians were recognised, spanning community service, science and research, industry, sport, the arts and more. The Honours list includes:

  • 669 recipients of awards in the General Division of the Order of Australia
  • 37 recipients of awards in the Military Division of the Order of Australia
  • 201 Meritorious awards
  • 85 Distinguished and Conspicuous awards

“Recipients share some common traits – including selflessness, excellence and a commitment to service,” said the Governor-General.

“They’re from different backgrounds, their stories are each unique, and each has served in different ways. This diversity is a strength and each has impacted their community and made it better.”

Amongst the list, 92 Australians were recognised for their contribution in support of Australia’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These recipients will be added to the COVID-19 Honour roll.

Honours recipients embody the values that we as Australians hold dear and their contributions are worth celebrating. Whether it’s making the community a better place or achieving greatness – their service helps to make Australia the vibrant and special place we call home.

As we recognise these exceptional Australians, we also take time to reflect on the extraordinary people in our own lives. Nominations for the Order of Australia come directly from the community and anyone is able to nominate at any time.

If you know someone worthy of recognition, nominate them today.
