A State Funeral for the Honourable John Moore AO will take place at 11.00 am AEST on Tuesday 4 February 2025 at Christ Church St Lucia, Corner of Central and Ninth Avenues, St Lucia, Queensland.
In 1975, Mr Moore was elected the Member for Ryan in Queensland. He was later appointed a Minister in the Fraser and Howard governments. Mr Moore was appointed Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs; Minister for Industry, Science and Tourism; and Minister for Defence.
Mr Moore retired from politics in 2001.
In 2004, Mr Moore was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for service to the community through the Australian Parliament, to the development of strategic industry policy, and to both policy and management reform in the defence sector.
Family, friends, representatives of organisations and members of the public are welcome to attend the State Funeral. Members of the public will be shown to seating in order of arrival until the church reaches capacity.
Doors will open at 10.00 am AEST. Attendees are kindly requested to be seated by 10.30 am AEST.
Ushers will be on hand to assist with seating.
