A State Funeral for the Honourable John Kerin AO will take place at 2.00 pm on Friday 14 April 2023 in the Members’ Dining Room, Old Parliament House, Queen Victoria Terrace, Parkes ACT.
Mr Kerin was the Minister for Primary Industry from 1983 to 1987 and Minister for Primary Industries and Energy from 1987 to 1991. Following this in 1991 he was appointed as Treasurer before taking on the appointment of Minister for Transport and Communications. From 1991 to 1993, Mr Kerin was the Minister for Trade and Overseas Development.
In 2018 Mr Kerin was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia for his distinguished service to primary industry through roles in agricultural research administration, to the minerals and natural resources sector, and to science-industry linkages and policy.
Doors will open at 12.30 pm. Attendees are kindly requested to be seated by 1.20 pm. Ushers will be on hand to assist with seating.
The State Funeral Service will be livestreamed from 2.00 pm.
