Prime Minister Anthony Albanese shaking hands with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak

During his visit to London, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese met UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at 10 Downing Street to discuss the Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement, AUKUS and our efforts to support an open, prosperous and secure Indo-Pacific region.

In their third meeting, the leaders welcomed the historic Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement (A-UKFTA) coming into force on 31 May this year, following the expected completion of UK domestic processes. Australia remains focused on delivering significant opportunities for our business, consumers and workers.

Following the Prime Minister’s visit to Barrow-in-Furness, the leaders emphasised their commitment to delivering the AUKUS partnership as a truly trilateral enterprise. They also reaffirmed their joint commitment to taking ambitious action on climate change and working closely together in the G20, and at the G7 this year.
