Abstract
The Australian National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security 2012-2018 (National Action Plan) is a whole of government policy to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 and related Security Council resolutions that comprise the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
The National Action Plan sets out actions Australia will undertake to: integrate a gender perspective into peace and security efforts; protect and promote women’s and girls’ human rights, especially in relation to gender-based violence; and promote women’s participation in conflict prevention, management and resolution.
The Australian Government reports on progress made under the National Action Plan every two years. This is the third Progress Report covering the period from 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2017.
