PM&C is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all staff and visitors. Whether you are working from the office regularly or visiting on occasion, we strive to ensure our facilities are accessible and welcoming to everyone, including individuals living with disability.

By private vehicle

Limited accessible parking is available at the 1 National Circuit building and can be accessed via the National Circuit entrance.

By public transport

Both of our offices are accessible by public transport. Refer to Transport Canberra’s journey planner to find the best route for you. 

Other

Both of our offices feature bicycle and scooter parking onsite.

Inclusion and accessibility features inside our buildings

Main entrance – street level

Our main entrances are accessible, featuring automatic glass doors that open onto level, obstruction-free walkways.

Internal sliding doors

Inside our buildings, access is controlled by automatic glass sliding doors. Each set of gates has a wheelchair accessible gate and, where applicable, sensors are placed at an accessible height. 

Door widths 

All doorways throughout our buildings meet or exceed 900mm, ensuring ease of access for wheelchair users and those requiring extra space.

Kitchen Facilities

Most kitchens are designed with accessibility in mind. They feature wheelchair-accessible sinks, water stations and appliances. All Zip tap units are hands free.

Meeting spaces

Meeting rooms are equipped with tables and chairs and the capacity of each room has been determined on the size of the room to ensure adequate circulation space. Tables are all at the standard height of ~750mm and meeting rooms are equipped with user adjustable ergonomic chairs. Many of the large meeting rooms have mobile/flip tables to allow flexibility with in meeting spaces.

Accessible bathroom facilities

Our accessible bathrooms have an automatic door for ease of access and feature an open layout to ensure safe and easy use. Additionally, all bathrooms include one ambulant toilet cubicle.

Changing rooms

At the 1 National Circuit Building we offer dedicated changing rooms on site which include an ambulant toilet cubicle. There are also accessible shower facilities in the accessible bathrooms on each floor of the East wing.

Lift access

Lifts are available in each wing on every floor, ensuring easy access throughout the buildings.

Hearing augmentation (infrared system)

Several meeting rooms across our buildings are equipped with infrared hearing assistance systems. Receivers are available at designated charging stations, and signs indicate areas where this technology is active.

Wayfinding and signage

Clear signage is placed throughout the buildings to assist with navigation. Tactile and braille signage is also available at key points, including:

  • the main entrance
  • lift buttons
  • internal stairwells
  • bathrooms
  • meeting rooms
  • carers rooms
  • the first aid room
  • the reflection room.

Quiet spaces

Our buildings offer quiet spaces such as individual break out rooms. The 1 National Circuit building also houses a library with options for quiet connection. 

First aid room and parents’ room (1 National Circuit)

At 1 National circuit, dedicated first aid, parents’ and reflection/wellbeing rooms are available for use.

  • The first aid room is equipped with an electric height adjustable bed, automatic door, accessible sink and first aid supplies.
  • The parents’ room is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and sink, along with comfortable seating and children’s toys.
  • The reflection / wellbeing room is equipped with a foot wash sink, and storage for prayer and yoga mats. 

First aid room, parents room and wellbeing room (10 National Circuit)

At 10 National circuit, a first aid and parents’ room is available as well as a dedicated reflection/wellbeing room.

  • The first aid and parents’ room is equipped with a bed, automatic door, accessible sink, first aid supplies, refrigerator, microwave, along with comfortable seating.
  • The reflection/ wellbeing room is equipped with foot wash sink, fridge and storage for prayer and yoga mats 

Accessible work stations

All work stations feature ergonomic electric sit stand desks, adjustable monitor arms and ergonomic chairs.
