Privacy notice

The privacy and security of your personal information is important to us, and is protected by law.

The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (the Department) is collecting your first name, surname, email address and your organisation name (if applicable) in addition to the feedback you will provide as part of your response. These details will inform Australia’s ninth periodic report to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (Committee) as part of the Australian Government’s commitment under the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (Convention).

For the same purpose/s, we may provide this information to the Committee in the form of a de-identified summary report comprised of all feedback received through the public consultation process. The summary report will be submitted as an appendix to Australia’s ninth periodic report. Your contact details will not be provided to the Committee.

You are invited to review Australia’s ninth periodic report draft and provide feedback through an online form made up of 25 questions which correspond directly to the periodic report content and contents page. Providing feedback on the periodic report is voluntary. Responding to all questions in the public consultation is not mandatory - it is expected that individuals/organisations will only respond to the questions relevant to themselves. Collection of your name and contact email is mandatory in order to verify you are a real person and authenticate input provided. We may use your contact information to contact you, should you opt in to being contacted by the Office for Women, to discuss your feedback where it may prove valuable to include in Australia’s ninth periodic report. Should you choose not to provide us with contact information we may be unable to include your feedback in the de-identified summary report.

The Department will not use or disclose the information collected from you, other than for the purpose/s described above, unless you have provided consent for us to do this, or we are authorised or required to do so by law.

The Department’s Privacy Policy (opens in a new window) explains how the Department handles and protects the information provided by you. Our Privacy Policy also explains how you can request access to, or correct the personal information we hold about you, and who to contact if you have a privacy enquiry or complaint.
