From 1 May 2011, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) is required by section 11C of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 to disclose access decisions through a disclosure log on its website. The Departmental FOI Disclosure log provides access to information which has been released in response to an FOI access request.
Detailed information about FOI can be found at the website for the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Requests to access documents must be in writing and must provide enough information about the documents sought to enable the department to identify them. Requests should be sent to
The FOI Coordinator
Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
PO Box 6500
CANBERRA ACT 2600
Requests can also be lodged by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
A link is provided on the Departmental FOI Disclosure log if the information can be downloaded from this website or another website. There may be documents in the disclosure log that are currently not available in HTML format. If you are unable to read the format provided please contact the FOI Coordinator at the above address or via email.
The Department may release documents you are requesting under an administrative access arrangement. As this is outside the FOI process, you will not be entitled to review rights under the FOI Act. However, should you be unsatisfied with the documents that are released, you can submit an FOI request.
Fees and charges
There is no fee for making a request but the Freedom of Information Act 1982 provides that charges may be imposed for processing requests.
A charge may be imposed to reimburse PM&C for the cost incurred in copying or reproducing the information or sending it to you. We will try to meet all reasonable requests for an alternative format of the document in a timely manner and at the lowest reasonable cost to you.
