Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should have the same opportunities for economic participation as other Australians. Economic Development policies and programs are about creating the right enabling environment. We are supporting Indigenous people to make the most out of their land assets and cultural knowledge. In remote areas, we are increasing business and employment opportunities, and making goods and services more easily available. The Government’s purchasing power helps Indigenous businesses, and assists entrepreneurs who want to establish or grow a small business.
