Ever had trouble choosing the right phone or internet deal? What about shopping around for the best energy plan or credit card?

If you’re like most people, you’ve probably struggled with the sheer number of options. Once the decision is made you set and forget.

Elisabeth Costa, from the UK Behavioural Insights Team, is at the forefront of helping regulators make these choices easier for people.

She’s helped UK consumers build up rainy day savings, pay more off their credit cards and seek financial advice at the right time.

Elisabeth is working with UK regulators in energy markets, telecommunications markets, care homes, and other sectors to test what works and take the best ideas into the field.

You can listen to the BETA Podcast with Elisabeth, including her journey from the Australian Government to the UK Government via Harvard Law School, on BETA’s website.

This is one of a series of in-depth interviews with the world’s leading experts in behavioural science, from the annual BX Conference held in Sydney last year, all available on the official BETA website podcast page.

Disclaimer: BETA's podcasts discuss behavioural economics and insights with a range of academics, experts and practitioners. The views expressed are those of the individuals interviewed and do not necessarily reflect those of the Australian Government.
