2014 Progress Report of the Australian National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security 2012–2018

This report was tabled in parliament on 15 July 2014. It was the first progress report and covered the period from March 2012 to December 2013.

Abstract

The Australian National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security 2012-2018 (National Action Plan) is a whole-of-government policy to implement the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (UNSCR 1325) and other United Nations (UN) Security Council resolutions related to Women, Peace and Security. It was officially launched on International Women's Day, 8 March 2012.

The National Action Plan consolidates and builds on efforts to integrate a gender perspective into peace and security efforts, protect women's and girls' human rights, especially in relation to gender-based violence, and promote their participation in conflict prevention, management and resolution.
